Ok... first let me start off by saying that I am AWFUL at titling things lol. So after you guys have read this description and you know what the piece is about, if you have any suggestions for different titles, I'm all ears!

Anyways, there is a story behind this piece... kinda. It is sort of symbolic (to me anyways). I have been through a lot in the past 7 or so years... things that were not easy for me to deal with. If you know me personally you probably know what I'm referring to. Anyways, for the majority of those years I felt very alone and cast aside. It was hard because I felt like nobody understood me and nobody was there for me. I was very blind... but it is not easy to think rationally when you are "suffering". But I was convinced that nobody loved me and nobody cared. When I finally forced myself to stop and get perspective on my situation, I realized that I was pushing people away. That I was not giving people a chance to understand me and be there for me. It turns out that I had quite a few people that were really worried about me and wanted to help me but didn't know how to approach me. Once I finally opened up and let people in I was able to heal, and they were able to help me heal. It is impossible for me to give enough thanks to my family and friends just for being in my life. These people really do care for me, and because of that I cherish them with all my heart.

So this image is basically a depiction of my life early on... it could be a depiction of anyone's life really. The girl crouched against the wall is representative of all of the emotions that I felt... lonliness, sorrow, hatred of myself, anger, confusion, self-doubt, etc. The angel is representative of all of the people in my life who cared for me and who were looking out for me, even though I was too blind to see it. (I am also a Christian and I do believe in God so for me the angel also represents God and religion) And the church is representative of all of the good things in my life that I somehow managed to ignore.

That is what the piece means to me, but obviously you guys can extract what you want from it. Just because there are religious figures in the piece does not mean that they have to represent religious figures to you. It's whatever you see.

Anyways, I apologize for getting all sappy on you guys lol. I know you're used to goofy Laura Lou, but this is just another side that you haven't seen yet. Before I do anything else I have to thank the people whose stock I used. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
